I’ve always enjoyed entrepreneurship starting from a young age in high school where I setup and ran a paintball field out of my parents backyard at their acreage. While getting a business degree from the University of Saskatchewan, I started a landscaping business, a paddleboard company, and upon graduating moved into the family window fabrication and installation business.
Like many other businesses, I noticed the family business had people wearing many different hats and lacked accountability and structure. I eventually came across the Entrepreneurial Operating System which over three years I helped implement into the company. This “operating system” setup the accountabilities, processes, and systems I was exactly looking for.
When I originally came across EOS, I noticed there weren’t any Implementers in the province of Saskatchewan. Over the years as my enthusiasm grew and the benefits of EOS became more apparent, I decided I wanted to share this with other companies. Using the EOS system and its tools, I transitioned out of my role in the family business.
Why should you listen to anything I have to say??
A business owner asked “Is David going to tell me how to run my business!?” and the answer is NO! EOS Implementers are experts on the EOS system and its tools. I’ll share my experiences and what has and hasn’t worked for others but do not advise or consult.
As an EOS Implementer, I help businesses in three different ways:
Teacher: EOS is a holistic and aligned system that is incredibly powerful when fully implemented and followed purely. I’m committed to implementing every EOS tool as originally designed because they are tried and tested. I teach the tools at a “spaced-learning approach” in the right sequence and at the right pace.
Facilitator: As a facilitator I draw out knowledge and insight from other group members by using different skills, tools, and exercises to keep a group discussion moving smoothly.
Coach: As an outsider, a coach has a different viewpoint which is often hard when you’re playing “in the game”. They can have an unbiased opinion towards your company and industry, and ask questions that can identify issues an insider may not be able to clearly see. In addition to helping you set your goals, a good business coach will hold you accountable for following through on the things you need to do to achieve those goals.
As previously mentioned, I’ve been in the trenches using the EOS system for over three years. The first two years with an EOS Implementer hired from Alberta, and the following year acting as the internal EOS Implementer.
Once again, this system is not experimental; it’s proven and has worked for thousands of companies, in all industries, all over the world.
Graduation
The goal of an Implementer is not to get entrenched in the business but rather make EOS part of the business DNA and then graduate you from the Implementer. It’s up to you how long they’re there to support you but it usually takes 18-24 months to get to the stage where you’re comfortable running the system and its tools on your own.
My Guarantee:
If you don’t find value in what I provide, you pay me nothing. This keeps me on my toes and makes me strive to bring my “A” game every single session.
